Data last updated:

One image, every social platform

Every social network wants a different shape: square and portrait posts on Instagram, tall 9:16 frames for Reels, wide 1.91:1 link images for Facebook and LinkedIn, 16:9 YouTube thumbnails and 2:3 Pinterest pins. Resizing the same graphic for each one in a design app is tedious. This resizer takes one image and produces every size you select in a single step, right in your browser.

How to resize your image

  1. Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP image — ideally the largest version you have.
  2. Select the platform sizes you need; four common ones are selected to start.
  3. Choose Fill and crop to cover each frame, and move the focus sliders to keep the important part in view — or choose Fit with background to show the whole image with a background color around it.
  4. Pick JPG for smaller photos or PNG for graphics with sharp text.
  5. Download sizes one by one, or all of them together as a ZIP file.

These sizes come from each platform’s official help or developer pages and were last checked on 2026-09-27. For example, Instagram keeps photos at full quality when they’re 1080 pixels wide with a ratio between 1.91:1 and 4:5, and YouTube asks for 16:9 thumbnails at least 640 pixels wide.

Crop or fit?

Cropping fills the whole frame and usually looks best, but trims whatever doesn’t fit — so use the focus sliders to keep faces and products in view. Fitting keeps every part of the image and adds bars of your chosen color, which works well for logos, infographics and screenshots where nothing can be cut off. Try both and compare the previews.

Tips for sharp social images

  • Start with an image larger than the biggest size you need; enlarged images look soft and are flagged in the preview.
  • Keep text and logos in the center, since platforms may crop previews further in feeds.
  • For YouTube banners, keep important content in the central safe area — it’s the only part visible on every device.
  • Save graphics with text as PNG and photos as JPG.

Your images never leave your device. Check how a link card will look with the Social Share Preview, count caption length with the Social Media Character Counter, and work out custom shapes with the Aspect Ratio Calculator.

Frequently asked questions

What size should an Instagram post be?

Instagram recommends a width of 1080 pixels with an aspect ratio between 1.91:1 and 4:5 — for example 1080 × 1080 (square) or 1080 × 1350 (portrait). Reels use a 9:16 frame such as 1080 × 1920.

What's the difference between fill and fit?

Fill-and-crop scales the image to cover the whole frame and trims the edges, using the focus sliders to choose what stays. Fit-with-background shows the whole image and fills the empty space with a color.

Why does it say an image was enlarged?

If your original is smaller than the target size, it has to be scaled up, which can look soft. Start from a larger original when possible.

Are my images uploaded?

No. All resizing happens in your browser, and the images never leave your device.

Are these sizes up to date?

They come from each platform's official help pages on the date shown on this page. Platforms change their layouts from time to time, so check the official guidelines for important campaigns.
